When I’m Not Working…

I, like many business owners, spend quite a bit of time thinking about and working on my business. My days are full of writing, learning, coaching, thinking, and building my business. And, as I’m preparing to go on vacation, I’m drawn to share some ways I’ve been spending my attention lately that aren’t (very) work-related:

  1. Playing cookie clicker, at the request of a family member (and chatting with my family about our respective progress in the game)

  2. Watching Critical Role

  3. Preparing to relandscape my yard - mostly, at this point, in the form of trying to articulate what I want well enough to communicate it to someone with skill at designing landscapes

  4. Getting distracted by scrolling social media, after well-intentioned attempts to go on social media for work-related reasons

  5. Partner dancing - in particular, West Coast Swing dancing

  6. Learning how to create bobbin lace

  7. Learning how to sew clothing for myself (with the help of a friend and her sewing equipment)

  8. Occasionally and very recreationally playing with archery

  9. Volunteering at a local nonprofit farm, so I can play in the dirt and learn more about gardening (in preparation for the previously mentioned relandscaping project)

  10. Decluttering my house and developing new mindsets and habits around housekeeping

What are your hobbies? Comment with some of your favorites, because I’d love to discover overlapping interests and have a conversation about them.
